Another Clinton Ally Jumps Ship

Jumping ShipThe Honorable John Lewis cites his switch of endorsement to Barack Obama,  “In recent days, there is a sense of  movement and a sense of spirit,” said Mr. Lewis, a Georgia Democrat who endorsed Mrs. Clinton last fall. “Something is happening in America, and people are prepared and ready to make that great leap.”

Mr. Lewis, who carries great influence among other members of Congress,
disclosed his decision in an interview in which he said that as a superdelegate
he could “never, ever do anything to reverse the action” of the voters of his
district, who overwhelmingly supported Mr. Obama.

“I’ve been very impressed with the campaign of Senator Obama,” Mr. Lewis said.  “He’s getting better and better every single day.” His comments came as fresh signs emerged that Mrs. Clinton’s support was beginning to erode from some other African-American lawmakers.

There indeed is a "sea change" underway.  I am bracing myself for the overall outcome of this amazing presidential race.

Unleashing the "Kitchen Sink"

Dobbs Sen. Clinton plans to unleash everything she has along with the kitchen sink tonight in Ohio during the Final Democratic Debate towards Sen. Obama.  The final debate will be shown at 9PM EST on MSNBC.  Which of the 5-stages of grieve personalities behavior will Sen. Clinton display?  So far, with words like "meet me in Ohio" sounds like some pretty angry energy is about to be unleashed.

Sen. Dobbs (D-CT) is now publicly endorsing Sen. Obama expressing that "he (Obama) brings a different background..."  He urges Sen. Clinton and her people to stay on higher ground because the American people are sick of mud wrestling politics.  So, homegirl needs to WATCH IT!

Eloquent Debate In Austin, TX

080221-obama-clinton-hmed-7p_rp350x350 During the debate Sen. Clinton charges Sen. Obama with political plagiarism of his signature speeches, and said that represented "change you can Xerox."

Sen. Obama eloquently dismissed charges as out of hand, adding, "What we should not be doing, we should be lifting the country up."  What a brilliant exchange.

Sen. Clinton seemed to soften with her replies and with her pledge allegiance to the overall collective strength of the Democratic Party.

Is there a hint of concession?  Sen. Clinton says, no when asked by Diane Sawyer.

HUH! It Has Been 43 Years of the Same

j0436222 The following quote makes you say, HUH!

"This is just another example of how those trying to defeat Obama are resorting to the most petty issues.  They've attacking his speeches (as if it matter, they all use speech writers to some degree).  They're attacking his possible decision to wield this fundraising sword in the general election.

The problem here is that Obama stands for something that the American public has been yearning for:  hope and change.  The same people get re-elected every year to Washington DC and spend that time doing nothing but lining their pockets.  We all know that's the reality.  Whether Obama follows through is something that we'll just have to wait and see about.  Is he like all the rest or is he really different?

He can't do worse than what Bush has done in the last 8 years.  McCain is obviously just another 4 years of Bush has gotten us into.  If Obama doesn't follow through with all of his promises, he simply won't get re-elected.  That's the power we all have as voters.  We can take a chance on him now and then move on if it was a wasted effort.

I still think that the real issue here should be allowing the American people to right the wrongs of our history.  Whether Obama or Hillary, we NEED to finally get a non-white male into office.  43 in a row has been plenty.  If we are a melting pot of a country, it's time to show the world it matters.

AND THAT COMING FROM A WHITE MALE, GO FIGURE."

So, maybe there is a wind of change brewing.

Women-to-Women Speak Candidly

dance

I would like to put a heartfelt question on the table.  Is there a new consensus of the meeting of mind and spirit among women around the world?  Are we beginning to heal ourselves by bonding to each other for support?  Can we women bring about change together for the betterment of our families, our lives, our planet?  Is it time for a woman president to help us understand our commonalities through her journey to create a more cohesive society?

Men, do you see vestibules of change in attitudes and strengths among the women you meet or have in your life?

Lunacy

Talking about Is He Helping or Hurting?

Quote

Is He Helping or Hurting?
Former President Bill Clinton is visibly on the campaign trail in support of his wife, Senator Hillary Clinton, becoming our next and the first female President of the United States.  Is he helping or hurting her chances to occupy the highest office of the United States?

Talking about Comeback Kid Jr? Or Wannabe?

Comeback Kid Jr? Or Wannabe?
I typically don't pay attention to the Presidential race until the Conventions, but this race is unique.  As it is well known, the DEMS have produced two candidates who will make history regardless of who wins the primary.  Obama is the first black to win a caucus and is beating the former First Lady in key states.  Now, if the Clinton MoJo is working, Hillary will roar back and take the Left Coast and get the nod from the DEM delegates.  One thing that has hurt Senator Clinton is  the fact that the Kennedys have endorsed Senator Obama.  http://www.nytimes.com/2008/01/28/us/politics/28kennedy.html?em&ex=1201669200&en=e799ff05bbf92f47&ei=5087%0A

That had to hurt.

The Kennedys are hoping to be seen with a black to bolster their "Civil Rights" resume, even if they believe Obama will lose.  What will be truly interesting is if Hillary ends up winning, what she will tell Teddy and Co....

Either way....the South will have its say.  I will be extremely surprised if the South votes for Obama.  South Carolina is heavily black.  Alabama and Mississppi, may be different.  And no matter who wins, who will they choose as a running mate?  There ain't NO WAY the US is gonna elect a Black AND a woman to run the country.  Nope.  No way.  Ain'ta gonna happen.  In either configuration.  Take it as the seventh sign if it happens.
