April 03 Sageview Blogger is MIADear Village Friends,
Thank you all for leaving behind your visit's warm expressions. I really miss chatting with all of you. I am a little under the weather right now. It all started with my daughter succumbing to the flu virus, then her little ones and now me. Being the old bird that I am, I am not bouncing back as readily. I do manage to read a lot of your posts -- but unable to concentrate long enough to put in my two cents. Much love
Peace, Love & Together March 31 Who Is That Wo(MAN), and Who Is She to YouYour sweet ecstasy, strong musky aromas intoxicatingly decadent is what I carve. The strength of your sure embrace around my shoulders and my ample hips ignites my just beneath long simmering larva. This feeling I have for you is strong indeed a flame I cannot alone stomp out. I spend all of eternity reliving last night’s passionate dance between two souls melting into continues oneness. Dawn’s early light has suddenly approached affirming my fixed existence in a space of time, a kinda dream state, until you come back into view. I don’t need a second look for you are what’s in my book, All I need to know is that you are in love with me. Oh, my divinely-designed earthly man, my Alpha and my Omega, your yin to my yang, all of that and so much more, I want you to know that you reflect the stars in my eyes for they twinkle extra brilliantly as you stroke my locks and caress my ample hips as if you were transfigured by my authentic womanhood. My heart is gladden as I am transcendent by your copious glaze revealing a throne richly adorned with gold, silver and purple sage that your patience steady hands have fashioned for me reclaimed and crowned your wo(man). But it also comes from my own American story.” “I am the son of a black man from Kenya and a white woman from Kansas.” “I have brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, uncles and cousins, of every race and every hue, scattered across three continents, and for as long as I live, I will never forget that in no other country on Earth is my story even possible.” “It’s a story that hasn’t made me the most conventional candidate. But it is a story that has seared into my genetic makeup the idea that his nation is more than the sums of its parts – that out of many, we are truly one.” “Throughout the first year of this campaign, against all predictions to the contrary, we saw how Hungary the American people were for this message of unity. Despite the temptation to view my candidacy through a purely racial lens, we won commanding victories in states with some of the whitest populations in the country. In South Carolina, where the Confederate Flag still flies, we built a powerful coalition of African Americans and white Americans.” “This is not to say that race has not been an issue in the campaign.” “ ….some commentators have deemed me either “’too black” or “not black enough.’” “We saw racial tensions bubble to the surface during week before the South Carolina primary.” (IMO, it started with the Ohio voters displaying the ugliest sentiments for use of the race card vehemently reared its head.) “The press has scoured…for…evidences of racial polarization, not just in terms of white and black, but black and brown as well.” “…it has only been in the last couple of weeks that the discussion of race in this campaign has taken…divisive turn.” “…, we’ve heard the implication that my candidacy is somehow an exercise in affirmative action; that it’s based solely on the desire of wide-eyed liberals to purchase racial reconciliation on the cheap.” “…we’ve heard from my former pastor, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, use incendiary language to express views that have the potential not only to widen the racial divide, but views that denigrate both the greatness and the goodness of our nation; that rightly offend white and black alike.” “Did I strongly disagree with many of these political views? Absolutely – just as I’m sure many sure many of you have heard remarks from your pastors, priests, or rabbis with which you strongly disagreed.” “…, Reverend Wright’s comments were not only wrong but divisive, divisive at a time when we need unity; racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems – two wars, a terrorist threat, a falling economy, a chronic health care crisis and potentially devastating climate change; problems that are neither black or white or Latino or Asian, but rather problems that confront us all.” “We can dismiss Reverend Wright as a crank or a demagogue, just as some have dismissed Geraldine Ferraro, (…incidentally who ran as a democrat for president back when in…. Go figure that one out.) In the aftermath of her recent statements, as harboring some deep-seated racial bias. “But race is an issue that I believe this nation cannot afford to ignore right now. * * * * Obama’s Minister Committed “Treason” But When My Father Said the Same Thing He Was a Republican Hero, Frank Schaeffer, writer and author of Crazy For God-How I Grew Up As One Of the Elect, Helped Found The Religious Right, And Lived To Take All (Or Almost All) Of It Back “When Senator Obama’s preacher thundered about racism and injustice, Obama suffered smear-by-association, But when my late father – Religious Right Leader Francis Schaeffer – denounced America and even called for the violent overthrow of the U.S. government, he was invited to lunch with the presidents, Ford, Reagan and Bush, Sr.” (IMO, isn’t that the frying pan calling the kettle black? Typical) “Dad became a hero to the evangelical community and a leading political instigator. When Dad died in 1984 everyone from Reagan to Kemp to Billy Graham lamented the passing publicly as the loss of a great American. Not one Republican leader was ever asked to denounce my dad or distanced him from Dad’s statements.” “Today we have a marriage of convenience between the right wing fundamentalists who hates Obama, and the “progressive” Clintons who are playing the race card through their own smear machine. As Jane Smiley writes in the Huffington Post “[The Clinton’s] are, indeed, now part of the ‘vast right wing conspiracy.’” (www.huffingtonpost.com/jane-smiley/im-already-against-the-n_b_90628.html) Both the far right Republicans and the stop-at-nothing Clintons are using the “scandal” of Obama’s preacher to undermine the first black American candidate with a serious shot at the presidency. Funny thing is the racist Clinton/Far Right smear machine proves that Obama’s minister had a valid point. There is plenty to yell about these days.” * * * * Discussions Obama’s Faith in the Reasoning Abilities of the American People: Barbara O’Brien, “I found the whole Wright “controversy” manufactured and relatively petty from the start, and worse, the by-product of a glaring double standard, so the speech obviously wasn’t aimed at people who had the beliefs about this whole matter that I had.” “The speech will be adored by Obama fans, the political and media elite, and high-information, politically engaged voters other than those firmly entrenched on the Right. But politically speaking, that isn’t the target audience either.” The real question with regard to the speech’s political impact: I think the question about the speech, articulated by Rachel Maddow on David Gregory’s news MSNBC program, is whether white America will step up and receive the speech in the same spirit which it was given. Obama’s speech was challenging. He assumed that his audience could hear his words and think about them. He assumed people could get beyond simple narratives, sound bytes, and jerking knees. Steve M. reluctantly makes the case as to why the speech won’t work despite (or, more accurately, because of high-minded, steadfast refusal to pander: The premise [the speech] lies out require you to be an adult, and I’m not convinced that most American is adults, at least when looking for a candidate to support. . . . This isn’t what Americans like to hear in political speeches. They like to hear: Good people = us (America, our party). Bad people = them (communists, terrorists, criminals, drug dealers, our ideological opposites, the other party, or some group we identify in code rather than explicitly). That wasn’t the tone of the speech. I hope I’m wrong, but Obama may pay a price for not giving people what like to hear. The entire premise of Barack Obama’s candidacy is built upon the opposite assumption – that Americans are not only able, but eager, to participate in a more elevated and reasoned political discourse, one that moves beyond the boisterous, screeching, simple-minded, ugly attack-based distractions and patronizing manipulation – the Drudgian Freak Show – that has dominated our political debates for the last two decades at least. Even Americans who authentically believe that they want a “new, better politics” may be swayed by the same old petty, personality-based demonization works, and the belief that it won’t work any longer in the absence of a major war against it may be more a by-product of faith and desire than reality. Obama’s calm reason and rational (though inspiring) discourse are matched against very visceral images and psychologically gripping strategies. Pam Spaulding commenting on the Jeremiah Wright video: That said, people have to acknowledge part of the reason for the discomfort lies in Wright’s delivery of the message. It’s so black, isn’t it? It sounds militant to tender ears outside the traditional black church. . . . I want to turn the discussion to race, because I think this episode with Rev. Wright exposed the whole “scary black revolution” primal fear hear. . . . When I heard Wright, I heard a delivery not unlike the unhinged gay-bashing. Reverend Willie Wilson . . . . The delivery sounds go angry, so harsh to many. You get the feeling, based on the reaction out there, that people are afraid of Barack Obama by association, are some sort of Trojan Horse of Black Anger waiting to be unleashed, prepared to exact revenge on white society by pulling the wool over their eyes by appearing friendly, “articulate” and non-threatening. In other words –- not that (Wright) kind of guy. Obama, Trying To Bridge America’s Racial Divide, by Kevin Merida, The Washington Post, March 19, 2008: As a rule, politicians don’t volunteer to give difficult speeches – not on sexism, not on religion bias, not even on the sacrifices required of a fiscally troubled nation. “Nobody gets into politics to give those speeches,” said Pat Schroeder, the former Colorado congresswoman. He had been pushed to the moment by a controversy over video snippets of sermons given by his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wight. While condemning Wright for comments that were “not only wrong but divisive,” Obama also sought to put the minister and the black church in context. Schroeder, who has endorsed Hillary Clinton but also likes Obama, said: “I think he tried very hard to bring everybody to where we need to bring them. I just hope the people heard it.” Internet Congregation Responds in Many Voices: In the World Created by YouTube, the Preaching Can Go Both Ways, by Jose Antonio Vargas, The Washington Post, March 19, 2008: Wright’s homilies – including the one where he says “God damn America” – have taken on a new life, opening a conversation so kaleidoscopic only the vastness of the Internet has room for it. It’s about race, Sen. Barack Obama, the presidential campaign, us. Standing in his kitchen, speaking in front of this web-cam, a middle-aged white asks of Wright: “Where is this guy from, the dark ages?” A young black man, made-up bed in plain view in the video, says, “I believe America is afraid of Barack Obama. . . .His pastor speaks the truth on certain things.” An Asian woman, holding a small microphone and fixing her ponytail, wonders: “Why is he” – Wright – “being harassed for talking about race?” The word ‘racist’ is just thrown around and I don’t think it means anything if you’re going to call everyone a racist because they said something about race or something you might be offended by.” Dear Village Family, It took me so time to piece this entry altogether; I could not sum up this issue in 100 words or less. It is a topic that can go on ad nauseam not just here in America but the entire world. Peace, Love & Together March 19 The Vatican Church Updates List of Sins For Globalization Era
The new list of mortal sins runs as follows: pollution, genetic engineering, obscene riches, addition to drugs, abortion, pedophilia and social injustice. All these sins join the original seven deadly sins defined by Pope Gregory the Great in the sixth century: pride, envy, gluttony, greed, lust, wrath and sloth. The original seven deadly sins had an individualistic dimension, while the new seven had a social resonance and showed worshippers that their vices affected other people. Peace, Love & Together March 15 SCAM ALERT!Imagine receiving an official looking, watermarked check drafted against the Wells Fargo bank in the amount of $3,980.00 payable to me. I was to carry out specific instructions for disbursements of said check under the probationary terms of my alleged employment as a mystery shopper. The instructions for disbursement of funds are as follows: 1. Two hours probation training pay: $130.00 2. Required funds to be sent Western Union: $3350.00 3. Service Charge of Western Union: $100.00 4. Funds for shopping; $400.00 My first assignment was to visit one the stores listed in my area to evaluate various conditions; and, also a Western Union or Money Gram service. The alleged employer figured that the assignment would only take me two hours to complete, rate of pay @$65/hr; the Western Union transaction was a big test; and, spend $100 at one of the listed stores. Wow, I thought not bad for two hours of work netting $130.00 pay plus $100.00 in merchandise I get to keep. Well, smelling like this is too easy to be true, so I did the research and found out that it's a SCAM according to the Council of American Survey Research Organizations, which has instructed to bring the mailer to the local post office for fraud filing. Watch out for this company's mailer: Weststar Shoppers Information Co. 1220 Shepard Ave., E Street, Suite 505 Toronto, M2K 2S5 Members of American Survey Research Org. 170 North County Rd., Suite 1607 Port Jefferson, NY 11777 The Class Reunion (or more) The Underclass Reunion

Peace, Love & Together March 10 Inhabitants Sets SailA not long too distant past, me a 2400 sq. ft. embodiment of steadfast coziness ripen with the fullness of many loving memories of bustling children and responsibilities-laden parents; something feeling overfeed gorged at the literal seams of my walls. Although I host spacious open rooms with beautiful views from each window I adorn, over time many year of wear my physical attributes have given way to the weight of crowded mature growth. The two princes & two princesses have grown into hopeful individuals. The patriarch and matriarch both are expressing the need for more aged-earned golden years relief from the once young parents' responsibilities. From my first-class ringside seat, I can agree that they steadfastly earned passage to alone time to enjoy the great friendship they share with each other. I can attest to this because now I too am in need of repair you see for my walls are in need of patching of cracks and paint, my floors, my bathrooms and windows all need some attention. Don't get me wrong for I stood valiantly strong proud to serve as a loving abode. Steady winds-propelled waves gave launch to royally-named sailboats setting course for individualistic charted and uncharted journeys. This is apparent for I have witnessed the many sails departures starting with the first prince, after attending college in North Carolina, met and fell in love with his new wife giving us our first grand-prince; the first princess caught the wave to attend college in Virginia and decided that she likes the folks there; took up permanent residency; harkening to the thrills of a new adventure, the second princess, always spirited, wore as a badge of honor as a supporter of coloring outside the lines. VIVA LA NON-CONFORMINIST! Whom God has filled with the promise of new pathways to travel, He has bestowed upon her stewardship of our two grand-princesses and our second grand-prince to help her navigate her journeys; and lastly, but not least, the youngest prince has set off for the U.S. Air Force in search of real-world maturity. Whew, a major shot of antibiotics has been injected into my walls, which have been stripped, repaired of cracks and painted, my floors are fortified with new wood and, I am adorned with new energy-efficient windows. I am refreshingly enjoying the quietness of the golden years. I have becomes a proud new playground for the newly-crowned King and Queen. I am tickled lovingly as I spy them claiming the unoccupied rooms as their own. The King has claimed the bottom third level where he resigns, free from the scorning matriarchal utterances of "teach by example" speech, plays Dungeons & Dragons quietly. The Queen seems to require a little more room for she has claimed both princesses' once-occupied spaces. Surrounded by books, music, poetry, candles, flowers, crafts ideas, comfy chairs, and her very own personal computer, stages a Zen-consciousness type of vibe; thus, amateur blog writing is born. Oh, let me not forget the bonus room -- her acquisition of extra closet spaces -- PRICELESS. The ship named "Golden Years" has majestically departed for newly uncharted ports. Peace, Love & Together

Mr. Lewis, who carries great influence among other members of Congress, “I’ve been very impressed with the campaign of Senator Obama,” Mr. Lewis said. “He’s getting better and better every single day.” His comments came as fresh signs emerged that Mrs. Clinton’s support was beginning to erode from some other African-American lawmakers. February 26 Unleashing the "Kitchen Sink"
Sen. Dobbs (D-CT) is now publicly endorsing Sen. Obama expressing that "he (Obama) brings a different background..." He urges Sen. Clinton and her people to stay on higher ground because the American people are sick of mud wrestling politics. So, homegirl needs to WATCH IT! February 22 Eloquent Debate In Austin, TX
Sen. Obama eloquently dismissed charges as out of hand, adding, "What we should not be doing, we should be lifting the country up." What a brilliant exchange. Sen. Clinton seemed to soften with her replies and with her pledge allegiance to the overall collective strength of the Democratic Party. Is there a hint of concession? Sen. Clinton says, no when asked by Diane Sawyer. February 21 HUH! It Has Been 43 Years of the Same
"This is just another example of how those trying to defeat Obama are resorting to the most petty issues. They've attacking his speeches (as if it matter, they all use speech writers to some degree). They're attacking his possible decision to wield this fundraising sword in the general election. The problem here is that Obama stands for something that the American public has been yearning for: hope and change. The same people get re-elected every year to Washington DC and spend that time doing nothing but lining their pockets. We all know that's the reality. Whether Obama follows through is something that we'll just have to wait and see about. Is he like all the rest or is he really different? He can't do worse than what Bush has done in the last 8 years. McCain is obviously just another 4 years of Bush has gotten us into. If Obama doesn't follow through with all of his promises, he simply won't get re-elected. That's the power we all have as voters. We can take a chance on him now and then move on if it was a wasted effort. I still think that the real issue here should be allowing the American people to right the wrongs of our history. Whether Obama or Hillary, we NEED to finally get a non-white male into office. 43 in a row has been plenty. If we are a melting pot of a country, it's time to show the world it matters. AND THAT COMING FROM A WHITE MALE, GO FIGURE." So, maybe there is a wind of change brewing. February 19 Women-to-Women Speak Candidly
I would like to put a heartfelt question on the table. Is there a new consensus of the meeting of mind and spirit among women around the world? Are we beginning to heal ourselves by bonding to each other for support? Can we women bring about change together for the betterment of our families, our lives, our planet? Is it time for a woman president to help us understand our commonalities through her journey to create a more cohesive society? Men, do you see vestibules of change in attitudes and strengths among the women you meet or have in your life? |
